Brad Meagher

Granite Springs is excited to have Brad Meagher working horses out of our equestrian facilities. Brad offers a horse breaking and re-educating service, along with taking horses on for training with the mechanical cow/live cattle work.

“I offer horse breaking, training, re-education and halter breaking services for all handled or unhandled horses of any breed, for any discipline. I am also available to take on horses for exposure/training on the mechanical cow and cattle work. A breakers stay is six weeks and a re-educators stay is 8 weeks, they are required to come with a rug and wormer provided by their owner. The stay for horses coming for exposure/training on the mechanical cow can be discussed however I also recommend a minimum of 6 weeks. In the last two weeks of their stay owners are offered and encouraged to come for a minimum one hours lesson each day if possible, gaining confidence and understanding your breaker or re-educated horse. This way we can ensure that your future together is a bright one.”

Brad Meagher
“Horses have been a big part of my life and passion since a young boy; I have spent endless amounts of time in talking with and helping a wide range of horseman-woman of all different generations and backgrounds which led onto building a life with horses.
With my family background of breaking, training harness racing horses and breeding I was constantly around the horse industry from a very young age. Seeing my passion in riding, educating, re-educating and handling the unhandled horse span 25 years.
I have a keen interest in all disciplines and over the years have owned a wide range of horses and ridden many horses of different disciplines.
I enjoy taking a blank canvas and teaching, or more so building, strong foundations with communication and confidence in the horses allowing me to be a part of their world.
I have my own method of breaking in horses that is not only safe to the horse but also a way that owner’s find to be very natural and easily understood by the horse.
Horses that I work with are ridden out alone and with other horses along roads and bush trails as well as the arena (flat work) giving good solid foundations with great exposure.
I’m always happy to help with any troubleshooting you may be experiencing with your horse.
Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or send me an email.”
